Happy 2nd Birthday Halle!!

I seriously can't believe that my little Halle is 2 years old. She has been such a joy in my life, I can't imagine a day without her. We wanted a baby so bad and she was (and is) truly a blessing!!
Halle was such a beautiful baby. She was born with tons of dark brown hair. All my dreams had come true when I saw her for the first time!!
I just can't believe how fast time has gone since she was born. It feels like I was just in the hospital (oh yeah, I was) giving birth. She makes me laugh all the time and keeps life interesting.
Around other people she is so shy, but her personality is one of a kind. She gives us enough attitude for five kids- she is going to keep us on our toes.
I love all of the little things she does like flipping the hair out of her face and her little run!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY HALLE!! Mom and Dad love you so much!! Thanks for being YOU!!

My Girls!!

Ok, so we went to the doctors last Thursday and Haisley had gained some weight. Thankfully she was up to 6 lb 7 oz so the doctor didn't get mad at me!! She is so cute- I am totally in LOVE with her. I have to tell myself to put her down once in awhile.
It is so fun to put some of Halle's old clothes on her. I think you can totally tell they are sisters!!
Halle always wants to hold her and touch her head. Halle has had a cold the past couple of days and I have tried to keep her away from Haisley, but she can't resist. You can tell that she LOVES her little sister. Whenever she wakes up she is so excited to see "Haisie." I hope she will always love her little sister like she does now.
This is what happens when Mom and Dad aren't giving 100% of their attention to you- you get into things!! She is soooo cute. I love her. I can't believe she is almost 2 years old.
This is one of the first baths I gave Haisley. She loves to get her hair washed- or atleast the sound of the water soothes her. She is such a good baby. We have truly been blessed with two adorable little girls. I couldn't be happier!!

Haisley's Update

Well, our little girl is going to keep us on our toes. She was doing really well with her breathing and the doctors stopped the antibiotics on Sunday. Her bilirubin was on the high end so they put her under the lights all day Sunday so I could only hold her to feed her. It was a pretty bummer day since I thought she would be out of the NICU. On Monday we got the good news that we would be able to take her home as long as her bili was down and her blood sugar was good. We finally left the hospital at 6:30 p.m on Monday.
The doctors wanted us to come in and get her bili checked as well as her weight. We did as we were told and then they made me really nervous. Haisley had dropped to 5 lb 13 oz. They said that I would have to pump and then give her a bottle to make sure she was getting enough food. I knew she looked smaller, but I had no clue that she had dropped more than a pound. Her bili was in the low risk category so we don't have to worry about that right now, but we go to the doctors tomorrow to get her weight checked again. Hopefully everything will go well. We want to THANK everyone for their thoughts and prayers. We know that our Heavenly Father is watching out for our little girl!!

So Here's the stats:
name: Haisley Hoen
height: 17.5"
weight: 6 lbs 15 oz.

eyes: dark but, can't tell much yet
birthday: May 23, 2008; 10:03 am

Play by Play:
Melissa woke up early this morning at 4 am with some contractions. She woke me up at 6, and we got ready. We took Halle to Grandma and Grandpa McCleary's. We got to the hospital, and they monitored her contractions for about an hour and then admitted us. The C-section went awesome (with the exception of a little nausea)!! I filmed the whole thing. I will post that next week. Hee Hee Yeah right!! So... Anyways.. Haisley came out gurgling amniotic fluid. they pumped her stomach and got 35 cc of fluid! The respiratory therapist said the most he has ever pumped was only 24! This fluid gave her some troubles breathing, so they had to hook her up right away to the oxygen. Sad huh? We still haven't even really got to hold her yet :( She will be under observation for the next 48 hours but the doc said she will be fine. Her lungs are still a little underdeveloped (she is 2 1/2 weeks early) but, she is already improving! The doc expects we will be able to take her home on Monday, so we will keep our fingers crossed. We feel things are on the up. We gave her a blessing and feel good about the situation!

So far Halle has been so cute with Haisley. She came and gave her sis
ter kisses, and has been so nice. Hopefully that will be the story. That would be awesome to see them be best friends!

We are so grateful for our little family! Melissa is the best mommy I could ever ask for! In fact a little too good, Halle is definitely a momma's girl. Maybe the tides will turn when mommy is tied up with baby Haisley! I am so grateful for Melissa and what she goes through to bring these kids into the world. It is the most amazing and spiritual thing! We feel so very blessed. I love Melissa to death and appreciate everything she does for our family! She is the best! I could never do this without her!

We will post more pics later

Baby Update

Well, there is no baby yet; however, I went to the doctors today and we are progressing. I have had some contractions, but nothing too intense (thank heavens!!). Last week when I went to the doctors the nurse asked me if I wanted to get checked and I chickened out. This week I was determined to find out if anything was happening- not that it really matters since I have to have a C- section anyways. Well, I got checked and low and behold I am already dilated 4 cm and 80% effaced. The doctor said that if I have regular contractions I need to get to the hospital sooner rather than later. So, Baby Hoen could come a lot faster than we expected- Hooray!!

Weekend Getaway!!

This weekend we went to Vegas to visit Brad's sister and her family. Halle had so much fun playing with all of their toys. She loved their little dog, Jack. She kept on saying, "Come here doggie," while patting her thigh (in sign language "doggie" is patting your thigh). She wasn't so sure about the tramp though.
This is a cute picture of Katelyn and Halle after church on Sunday. They had a lot of fun playing together. We wish they lived closer so the girls could hang out more!!
On the way home from Vegas, we stopped in Mesquite for a couple of days to relax. We had a lot of fun!! Brad worked a little so Halle and I played a lot at the pool. Notice there are no pictures of me in my swimming suit- I saved everyone from those awful images!!
On Monday, Halle was loving the pool. She wanted to be in it the whole time and when we had to go inside she would cry. She wasn't so sure about jumping in, but once she was in she loved the water. It was a lot different from last year- I would take her to the Scera almost everyday and she would just sit by me and play with her toys. This year I actually had to swim in the water with her. So much for working on my tan!!
This is her modeling her swimming suit. Isn't her tummy so cute- I can say that about her now, but hopefully she won't be looking like that when she gets older!! On Tuesday we had a really scary incident happen. We decided to move spots at the pool and Halle was following Brad and I to our new location. I heard a splash and turned around to find Halle in the water by herself. Keep in mind that this is deep water and she had no life saving items on. I screamed at Brad and he jumped in to save her. It was the worst feeling in the world to watch her in the water. All the while, the dumb lifeguard just sat there and watched the whole thing. I gave him a little piece of my mind while my husband had to do the saving. Thank heavens Brad was there to rescue our daughter!!
